United States Regional Map Teaching Aid

This 48"x24" magnetic map was designed for a fifth-grade classroom at Washington Elementary in Marietta, Ohio, to reinforce the regions of the United States as well as the natural resources and tourist attractions that characterize each region. Each icon was hand-illustrated and then scanned and traced in Illustrator. The icons can be moved off of the key on the right and onto the appropriate region of the map as a mix-and-match game, and can be hung on the wall for continued learning.

The map was printed on adhesive paper and mounted to a sheet of galvanized steel with holes in each corner for mounting.

This project was selected as an international semifinalist for the Adobe Design Achievement Awards in the Illustration category, beating out over 800 different entries.
